Spectacles and Specs experiences built in Lens Studio
Spectacles are Snap's AR glasses, and Specs are the consumer glasses Snap has said it will ship in 2026. Both run experiences built in Lens Studio. The Augury builds spatial, hand-tracked Lenses for them: games, branded experiences, and practical tools.
Why build for Specs now
Snap announced consumer Specs for 2026, and said many of the Lenses built for Snapchat and Spectacles will also work on them, according to TechCrunch. The first experiences people try on a new device shape how they see it, and brands that show up early get that attention.
What we build
- Branded experiences. Something people can try, share, and talk about on day one.
- Games. Spatial play that uses hands, gaze, and the room.
- Practical tools. Guided workflows, inspection, and training experiences for work settings.
How we build
We work in Lens Studio, which supports TypeScript and JavaScript, and test on the glasses themselves rather than in a simulator alone. The same studio that makes Snapchat Lenses can bring a mobile idea into a headset-ready experience.
Common questions
Can my existing Snapchat Lens run on Specs?
Snap has said many Lenses will carry over. Whether yours does depends on how it was built, and most Lenses need adjusting to feel right with hands and space. We can review it and tell you.
What is the difference between Spectacles and Specs?
Spectacles is Snap's developer-focused AR glasses line. Specs is the consumer version Snap has said it will release in 2026. Both are built on Snap OS and Lens Studio.
