Phil Walton, founder of The Augury
Phil Walton is a Nashville augmented reality creator and a Snap AR Creator Ambassador. He founded The Augury, Inc., created the Snapchat Potato, and wrote two books on Snapchat and Lens Studio.
Background
Phil spent ten years as a 3D animator and then as a freelance creative before he found Lens Studio. AR used to require serious programming skills. Lens Studio worked for someone with an art background, and brands were starting to hire people to build for their customers on it. He kept going because people around the world responded to what he made.
Work
His Lenses have been used by streamers, on video calls, and in social posts worldwide. His bio for The Social Complex podcast describes work featured on the Super Bowl, Saturday Night Live, Nickelodeon, late-night talk shows, and Japanese music videos. Clients of The Augury include Nickelodeon, Paramount, Amazon Studios, Lionsgate, DoorDash, and Taco Bell.
